Catch-up Time

I meant to post this long ago... Kurt took pics of us at Strawberry Farms when we were all having breakfast there a few weeks ago. I love this one of our little family.

This is what happens in the kitchen when I'm making dinner. Wallace keeps busy with his toys. Gypsy comes in to watch me and then Wallace likes to pet Gypsy and pull her hair. I don't think she notices yet.... but he's getting stronger and she's got a lot to put up with ahead.

I caught this picture of Rian and Wally watching football. He (Wallace) likes to hold and play with the romote.

We took the train to San Juan Capistrano on Saturday. Here we are waiting for the train. Why am I the only one smiling?

On the metrolink on our way home. We watched Colby's basketball team play down there, got lunch at our favorite mex food in san juan, and sat at Starbucks reading. Very fun day.

Sunday we took a hike in the hills of Laguna Beach. Beautiful views of the ocean. Gyspy is in heaven on this trail... she runs free, waiting every so often for us to catch up. Wallace was in a cranky mood for most of it... bummer. Most likely because he had to wear that dorky hat. Anyway, we kept going and he eventually forgot he was cranky.

BTW, we shaved Gypsy.

Good Month for a Birthday

My birthday was last week and Rian treated me like a queen. I mean, he always does actually, but this week was extra special. We celebrated Thursday night with dinner at McCormick & Schmick's and out to a movie (Juno... very good). Wallace was with the grandparents. Here we are eating in the "cozy", the few booths with the curtains.

Rian also had them personalize my menu! So fun, I didn't know they did this.

We did some other fun things throughout the weekend, but I had a surprise coming on Sunday. Rian rented a Duffy from a guy on Craigslist and took me all around the bay. This year for birthdays, instead of gifts, we're just writing each other a poem. I did his in November. So he read me his poem on the boat. It actually was more of a rap. I've never had someone rap to me on a boat to the tune of Eminem's "Loose Yourself". It was a first. Anyway, after this we were going past a public dock and I see a group of people there jumping and waving. He had my girlfriends and their husbands there waiting!! It was such a fun surprise. I should have known with the large amount of cheese, crackers, wine, fruit, etc Rian had brought. I just thought we'd be on the boat for a while. So we cruised the bay and then back to the dock to drop them off. As we pull up, I see another smaller group of people hiding and then they popped up and it was my family! And so another cruise of the bay began. I couldn't have asked for a better birthday. Rian put so much thought into the day. He is wonderful and my best friend.
