Before I post more on the big day... I just want to show you how beautiful Lauren looked on her wedding day. She was absolutely stunning.

Rehearsal Dinner
Lauren and Brian's rehearsal dinner was at Zaytoon, a Middle Eastern restaurant in Santa Barbara. We had a blast. The rehearsal went great at the church and then we all relaxed together. Here are some of Laurens friends.
Katie and Chap
Lauren went around passing out gifts to her bridesmaids. She picked out something unique for each of us this summer while she was in Turkey. She found this gorgeous turquoise necklace for me.

Late night relaxation
disculpe!
so as you know... we can go days and days with nothing new on the blog. THEN, you come along and find a little treat, like today. ok, so the update. we've been enjoying each week, as they fly by. rian comes home for lunch on average of 3 days a week probably. which is really fun. wallace loves hearing his voice when he arrives, he totally recognizes it and will light up when he sees his dad. this morning wallace got a bath. i cleaned him extra well, since it had been some time since his last bath. we scrubbed and soaked and once we were done, he thought it would be a great trick to poop in his towel. fine, so i cleaned him up and got him dressed. he then thought it would be funny to spit up. three times. in three different outfits. isn't he cute. however, after all the excitement he was ready to take a nap and he's been sleeping for almost 2 hours. i love that! and i have to say... he is so good to us. still sleeping through the night and being so great throughout the day. of course, we have our times where he is fussy all morning, won't nap all day, and just wants to be held. those days keep me extra busy. yesterday he was such a trooper. we visited rian at work in the morning, went to the chiropractor, took a long walk, did some shopping (for me!), went home for lunch, went out again to meet a friend, did some grocery shopping, then came home and he watched me cook dinner. he was so happy ALL day. i've never heard him talk and laugh so much. he was ready for bed by 7pm which was right when brian and beth came over for margaritas and scrabble. it couldn't have been better timing. i was ready to catch my breath and relax!
our spanish class is going very well. if wallace's first words are in spanish, don't be alarmed. we have been assigned to listen to our local spanish radio station while we drive, label objects around the house with post-its, have 10 conversations with our hispanic neighbors, and throw out one-liners to each other throughout the day (all in spanish, of course). adios. nos vemos!

This Week's Recommendations
1. Taco Rosa. If you like Gabbi's at the circle in Orange, you'll love this hidden little restaurant in Newport. It's very rustic aztec style feeling. Sit on the patio and enjoy the appetizers on the house that they'll bring you. There's so many good things to eat and drink on the menu... I don't even know where to begin. We're going back.
P.S. It's in your Entertainment book.
2. Walking from the Balboa Pier to the Newport Pier and back. It's about 3.5 miles and such a nice way to get your excercise for the day. Especially in the crisp morning, pushing a stroller, tasting the salt, and listening the the seaguls and ocean waves. It's the best.
3. Watch old videos. Come on... break them out. My dad edited a whole series of my Life Videos and Rian has been making fun of me at my 16th birthday party all week. I also had Juliana & Lara over to watch themselves at my younger birthday parties and in church plays. We were dying. It's great fun.

sleep is so sweet
wallace has been a good sleeper from day one.... but to have him sleeping 12 hours through the night.... that is sweet. he graduated into this phase last week, sleeping 7pm to 7am. there's still some kinks to work out here and there, like waking up at 5am a couple mornings ago. how could he... 10 hours is not acceptable anymore!
he had his first real (non-grandparent) babysitter the other night. sara grexton came over and played with him, fed him, changed him, and snuggled him to sleep. this allowed rian and i to attend our first spanish class without our 11 week old baby. it also has allowed rian to chant his new favorite words, "desculpe" and "a la derecha" all day long to me.
buenos dias.

BEAUTY
I love Dove's Campaign for Real Beauty. The ads are so powerful for women of any age. Here are two of my favorites. The first one is a commercial that should be coming out soon. --meg
This Weeks Recommendations
1) "Hairspray" playing at the Woodbridge Dollar Theater. This movie is so much fun and for only a buck!
2) Breakfast at "The Old Vine" over at The Camp (across from The Lab). We had the best crepes there one early morning last week.
3) Playing Scrabble outdoors. It's been so mild outside and perfect for a late night game. You must light candles and enjoy a glass of wine while playing.

The Joseph's House
About twice a year the Joseph's throw a party at their La Habra Heights home. It's so much fun and always a great time of keeping in touch with Rian's old friends from Japan.
I like this picture of our little family.
Jim Joseph and 3 (of his 6!) kids. He's introducing them to Wallace.
Here's Derek. He and Christi will be having a baby of their own soon! We can't wait!
